ONE MAN COFFEE

First stop: ONE MAN COFFEE

So café-hopping seems to be the cool thing to do now and I cannot express how pleased I am about this. I. LOVE. COFFEE. and I. LOVE. CAKE. So putting two and two together, coupled with the fact that cafes are everywhere and so much easier to find is FREAKING. AMAZING. Plus since it's a common social thing to do now it's easier to find people to accompany me on my adventures.

I thought, what better place to start my café-hopping adventures than in my own hood. There are quite a few cool places that I've been wanting to check out. I haven't even tried Habitat Coffee yet! But I'll get to that some other time.

One Man was pretty difficult to find at first - I had driven past the lane of shophouses umpteen times and I'd never remembered seeing a café. It turns out the café shares the location with Crust (the pizza place), and the two simply have different operating hours to accommodate the relevant crowds.

We reached pretty late, about an hour before it was due to close. Thankfully there was one final slice of Red Velvet Cake waiting for me in their quaint little dessert cabinet, and it was apparently a fan-favourite, so we decided to try it. We also got a slice of a Raspberry Chocolate Cake, which was alright but pretty meh compared to the Red Velvet. I'm really not a fan of fruity flavours though, so don't take my word for it. I will say that both the cakes were surprisingly moist, and the Red Velvet was honestly pretty darn good. The cream cheese icing could have been a little sweeter, or perhaps a thicker layer could have been used to top the cake.

Oh, and naturally, we also got a couple of coffees, and my brother got an iced chocolate. The coffees were good too I guess. I'm still in the process of refining my ability to be able to properly enjoy and critique coffee. and also wine heh.

The weather was particularly good to us that day and we decided to sit outside. While it was slightly less noisy I would recommend sitting inside - it's just cosier and you get a stronger smell of coffee as you enjoy your own. At least that's what I prefer.

The natural lighting outside did help me get a lotta nice photos, which I really appreciated, being a budding photographer who's only just getting started.

Overall, a great place to visit when I'm ever in need of a coffee fix, especially since it's never as crowded as Habitat and I don't have to be put on a waiting list whenever I need a cuppa.
